The Department of Pharmacy Services at Lady Reading Hospital is a part of the clinical support services available in the hospital. The main focus of the department is to provide quality ambulatory and In-patient care services, as well as effective pharmacy practice through optimal individualized pharmaceutical care to patients.
The department is also responsible for forecasting the needs of drugs and consumables and plays a vital role in promoting rational, cost-effective drug usage through an efficient delivery system. Dispensing around 900,000 items in one month, makes this department among one of the busiest departments in the hospital.

Message from the Manager Pharmacy
Department of Pharmacy Services LRH-MTI is committed to providing safe, high-quality, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care to all our patients. We work closely with the medical team to ensure optimal medication therapy and outcomes. We also strive to improve our practice through continuous education, research, and innovation. Our department offers a range of services, such as inpatient and outpatient dispensing, medication reconciliation, clinical pharmacy, drug information, medication safety programs and sterile and non-sterile compounding planned for future projects. To cater pharmacy services of one of the largest hospital in the country with diverse needs, We have a well-trained and dedicated staff of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants who are ready to serve you with professionalism and compassion. We also have a Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee that oversees the selection, provides technical assistance for procurement, and rational use of medicines in the hospital. Our department is proud of our achievements and recognition in the field of pharmacy. We have also participated in various quality improvement projects, such as reducing medication errors, optimizing antibiotic stewardship, and implementing cost-effective strategies. ACHIEVEMENTS:
- First Public sector hospital Pharmacy in the province with complete HMIS based online Medications Ordering, Dispensing, Pharmacist’s Online Clinical Interventions and Provision of medications including Local Purchase items.
- Implementation of HMIS based properly labeled medications.
- The Only Public Sector Hospital Pharmacy in the province to provide free outpatient medications services under Sehat Tahafuz Program.
- Fully Online OPD Pharmacy provides safe & effective medications to the patients of OPD as well as IPD corporate patients of Sehit Sahulat Card, Pakistan baitul Mal etc.
